The second Waikato agricultural summit was held on 22 October at the Ferrybank Lounge in Hamilton. This followed a year of discussions with key agricultural stakeholders in the region that built on the first agricultural summit. It provided an opportunity to draw those stakeholders together to further develop ideas on how each would contribute to addressing the environmental challenges currently facing agriculture in the region. There was a significant focus on the opportunities and risks of industry self management and the option of providing for this in upcoming Environment Waikato Policy review processes.
