Rates information

Environment Waikato’s activities are partly funded by your rates. Find out how your rates are calculated, what they are used for, your legal obligations and how you can pay your rates invoice.

Your rates invoice

Environment Waikato's regional rates are invoiced once a year. Your rates invoice sets out how much is owed including any balances carried forward from last year. Your rate assessment notice shows how the regional rates for your property are calculated and which regional rates are applied to your property.

In 2007/08 two districts (Otorohanga and Taupo) underwent a property revaluation. These are likely to have affected the amount of rates paid by people in these areas. You can work out your rates by using our rates calculation form.

Privacy statement

Your name and address information is part of the rating record obtained under the Local Government (Rating) Act 2002, and is protected under this Act, the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 and the Privacy Act 1993.

We may use your name and address as required by these Acts and other Acts administered by council. We would also like to use your name and address to inform you of council activities that may affect you.

Council funds its activities by a variety of mechanisms. Wherever possible the revenue is targeted from those directly impacted.

Solicitors can use our settlements request form to request rates information for property requisition purposes. We will fax a copy of the requested information back to you.
